We're now deep into the weeds in the 2024 season and we see a lot of movement in this week's Power 25. We put together the Power 25 each week by taking a look at each team's entire resume since opening day with emphasis put on district wins, strength of schedule, strength of record, and Power 25 wins. The race for each class' state tournament is really starting to heat up and it appears that this year is as wide-open in every single class as we've ever seen it.

The Yellowjackets from Choctaw overtake the number one spot as they have now clearly cemented themselves at the top thanks to what is now the best resume by far in the state. Their lone loss came in a one-run affair later in the week against Bixby and has already revenged that loss as well as adding an impressive district sweep over number 5 Edmond Memorial. Owasso moves up to the number 2 spot after winning their previous ten games. Their last loss came to Carl Albert in which the Rams made multiple uncharacteristic mistakes. Since then they have cleaned up the defense and the pitching staff has begun to shapen up allowing only 13 runs during their 10 game win streak.

Broken Arrow continues to climb after a strong week that saw them put together a 4-1 record with the lone loss coming to number 1 Choctaw and winning 4 games against strong competition. Piedmont was on pace to see a large jump in the poll after an impressive sweep of Bixby, but then would go on drop three straight against Power 25 opponents. That being said, the sweep of Bixby shows what the Wildcats are capable of when firing on all cylinders and should put other 6A opponents on notice.

Two programs see their stock rise back into the Power 25 after falling out earlier in the year with Blanchard and Lone Grove winning their way back into the field. Blanchard began the season as our 11th ranked team in the preseason and jumped to #10 after week one. They would then fall below .500 after a tough stretch and since that moment the Lions have won 13 out of their last 14 showing their toughness and championship pedigree. Lone Grove spent a week in the Power 25 before dropping out as our 26th ranked team the past few weeks. They earned a split against the top ranked 3A program in Washington and now find themselves at the top of the leaderboard in District 3A-1.

Two new programs find their way into the Power 25 with Dale making their debut at number 17 and Heritage Hall coming in at number 19. Dale got off to a slow start before racking up victories and culminated in acing their toughest test of the year after decisive wins against Tuttle, Piedmont, and Elgin all in the past week. Heritage Hall has been on the cusp of the Power 25 the past couple of weeks and broke through the "On Deck" group after taking down Silo, Washington, and Oktaha this past week. Heritage Hall has clearly thrown their name into the hat as a true title contender in the 3A with a talented roster and now having one of the more impressive resumes around the state.

Finally we want to discuss the Yukon situation and how that pertains to the Power 25. Whether or not you agree with the OSSAA decision to vacate all the victories and drop their overall official record to 5-23, we know that the Millers are clearly better than that record would suggest and it is our understanding that they are still eligible for post season play. They are clearly worthy of being considered amongst the best in the state due to their resume but due to the sanctions we have decided to take them off the Power 25. That being said, the Millers are still 6A title contenders and will make for a tough out in somebody else's regional in a few weeks.
