My kids are probably not real happy with my instant pot. I bought it a little over a year ago. I’ve consistently made delicious meals and kept us from eating out so much this last year. I give the Instant Pot all the credit. I was looking for a new recipe and this one is delicious, tasty and oh so yummy! So check out my bourbon chicken recipe made in my instant pot!
Bourbon Chicken Instant Pot Recipe

A delicious chicken recipe that my family loves

Ingredients
- 1 tsp oil
- 2 lbs chicken (I used chicken thighs)
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1 tbs bourbon liquor
- 3 tbs soy sauce
- 1 tbs light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1/3 cup water with 1 tsp honey mixed in
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
Instructions
- Add chicken to Instant Pot and cook on saute for 5 minutes or until no pink is seen. Brown the chicken on all sides. Add the other ingredients to a bowl and stir well. Then cover chicken thighs. Lock the pressure cooking lid and cook on high pressure for 8 minutes. Let it naturally release the pressure. Add to rice and it makes a delicious and easy meal. My family gobbled it up. For slow cooker recipe Just add all ingredients to slow cooker and cook on low for 3-4 hours. Delicious!

By “chili sauce” do you mean sweet chili sauce, or something different?

It’s in the ketchup aisle. Heinz makes it. It is in a jar like co*cktail sauce (shrimp). I think it is sweet.

Same question as above, please confirm it’s not Sweet Chili Sauce. I use this sauce for bang bang shrimp.

I had the same question about the chili sauce. There is chili sauce sold near the ketchup and there is sweet chili sauce usually found in the Asian foods section and I wasn’t sure which one was to be used. This looks really good, looking forward to trying it!
